While it's been a relatively quiet period for us in terms of sales and festivities, we couldn't be prouder of the collective commitment to health and well-being that this initiative represents.
Dry January has become more than just a month-long abstinence from alcohol; it's a symbol of self-care, mindfulness, and a renewed focus on personal health goals.
Me personally? I run. I mostly do this so I can eat delicious food and drink delicious Dark Berries. Because balance is not only important in cocktails.
As a business? Its difficult. You have to run a million miles an hour in November & December, and then when it all drops off in January? Its a bit depressing, and genuinely scary.
We believe in producing balanced, ethical high-quality Liqueurs.
Acidity, bitterness, alcohol content and sugar dosage are all incredibly important, and without each of them you won't have a liquid which anyone wants to drink. We also believe our products can play a role in enhancing everyday moments of indulgence, even in moderation.
We have spent the month remembering our goals, regrouping for the rest of the year and reconnecting with our customers. We've set up a load of tastings for February, and hopefully after entering a few larger business tenders, you'll find our liquid in even more venues in 2024. So yeah, balance is important. If every month was December I guess you wouldn't last long.
Sometimes as an alcohol producer in the UK its difficult to know where you stand. Government revenues from our sector account for billions, but more and more its difficult to see hospitality and alcohol production depicted in a positive light.
Its a shame. We believe that we have one of the most vibrant, inclusive and cutting edge hospitality sectors in the world. In part thats the reason we set up Mouse Kingdom. We wanted to reflect the quality in venues and drinks deliveries in our sector with appropriate ethical liquid.
Either way, on the 31st of Jan we've finally set a resolution.
To bring balance. Through encouraging positive consumption of the liquid we produce. Through sourcing our produce ethically and with sustainability as the essence of what we do. Through supporting the UK hospitality industry through keeping our pricing as low as they possibly can be, as well as visible, and not tucked away in A&P funds. Through listening to venue owners and bartenders about what it is they want.
Heres to the rest of the year 🥂
