Grapefruit Rum Old Fashioned

This is a delicious serious twist on a classic Old Fashioned.

We've added Grapefruit, and twisted the sugar to be 15 ml of MK Coffee liq.

We've also chosen a peaty scotch as it pairs really well with these flavours.

35ml Whiskey (Ideally Peated scotch, Ardbeg, Laphroig, Lagavulin etc.)

15ml Mouse Kingdom Coffee Liqueur

Dilute with a Quick Stir

Grapefruit Zest.

If you have a spare 15ml of grapefruit juice, tease it in there. You shouldn't really... But do it.

Really, if you love complex brown alcohol you can use any tasty whisky, or rum, or cognac you have.

Purists would use an American Bourbon for an Old Fashioned.

Bourbon is excellent, it gives a rough tangy corn vibe.

Peated Scotch gives what you'd think. It is smokey, complex, really subtle and rough.

Citrus hides away in the peat. So we chose Grapefruit.

MK Coffee has subtle chocolate and nut vibes which pair with citrus.

Twist some Grapefruit peel on your Old Fashioned.
